Kauri Cliffs Kauri is located in bay of islands on the north side of Auckland. The course is designed by David Hamman who lives in villa located inside the course, and is famous for its breathtaking scenery. A billionaire from the U.S., Robertson was mesmerized by the beautiful scenery during his visit in 1978 with his wife. After staying there for several months, he decided to build a golf course, bought the land in 1995 and opened the course in 2001.
Cape Kidnappers Cape Kidnappers Golf Club is located in Napier which is on the south east area of New Zealand. The owner of a U.S. hedge fund company, Tiger Fund, Julian Robertson bought the 19,834,710m2 land. The course was designed by Tom Doak, internationally known for designing the Pacific Dunes. The 18 hole golf course opened on January 2004, and the course follows 7 ridges near the coastal cliffs 182m above the sea.
Gulf Harbor Located 35 minutes north from Auckland, the Gulf Harbor Country Club is where the New Zealand Open has been held since 2006. The golf course is a dream club of many golfers around the world for its calm climate and natural scenery. Fairways are set to leave the hilly lands and the ocean view as it is, and the green uses bent grass to allow fast and accurate putting.
